Hacienda La Amistad maintains a 23,465-acre forest reserve surrounding it's several hundred acres of coffee shaded by fruit trees. It was the first coffee estate in the Americas to be certified organic, and competitions consistently judge it to be the best. Post-harvest processing uses only renewable energy.
